• GEOTHERMAL

SOLAR

Radiant light and heat from the sun is harnessed using a range of technologies to capture Solar Energy and bring it to your home.

WIND

Whether generated off-shore or on land, Wind Energy is a clean source of renewable energy that produces no air or water pollution.

GEOTHERMAL

Deep inside the Earth lies hot water and steam. This Geothermal Energy can be used to heat homes and generate electricity cleanly and efficiently.

HYDRO

Requiring only the power of moving water (rivers, streams and ocean tides), Hydro Energy is the nation’s most available, reliable and sustainable energy source.

A REC (Renewable Energy Certificate) is created when a megawatt-hour (MWh) of clean energy is generated and added to the power grid.

RECs are the property rights to the non-energy, environmental attributes (primarily the absence of carbon dioxide or CO2) that are derived from generating electricity using a clean, renewable fuel as opposed to a fossil fuel. The electricity goes into the grid, the environmental attributes are bundled and sold, and the owner of the REC can legally claim to have purchased renewable energy.

SmartEnergy buys Renewable Energy Certificates produced by wind, solar, hydro, and geothermal facilities located in the United States. Buying local green energy helps boost the nation’s renewable industry while reducing our reliance on imported, foreign fuel. 100% of SmartEnergy’s electricity can be attributed to RECs.
